Herein I record what various practitioners offer to train me. This list was accurate when I recorded it but the trainers change often.

List updated June 2000 to remove the old Olympus and old Atlantis trainers. The old list can be found on my Old Mystic Trainers page. The trainers from the new areas will be added as I get there.

Mystic Academy Practice Room

You are in a room filled with weapons, books, and many combat dummies, some
cut and stabbed many times, others burnt to a crisp.  The room is filled with
sweat and an aura of magic.  There is a sign on the wall.

Kethry's mortal body

Deep within the Cave
[Exits: east]
Grey shapes move and twist in the dancing light that reflects off the
walls blocking what is on the pile of pine needles in the far corner.
Eventually the wolves part and the image of a body can just barely be
discerned from among the needles and leaves that make up the bedding where
Kethry's mortal body lies.  Here her flesh is cared for by the wolf pack
that she ran with so many moons ago.  It is rumoured that these wolves can
never truly die, for they are just shells, empty flesh that regenerates with
each passing moment, their souls taken up and dancing on the breezes with
Kethry's immortal soul.

(White Aura) Kethry's mortal body lies here, resting on a bed of pine needles.

Kraigs Keep

Brewer of the Sacred Waters

The Holy Brewery
[Exits: west]
In this room, the master dwarven cleric teaches other clerics all that they
will need to know to become master clerics.  Selection of choice ingredients,
the process of fermentation, just the right incantations for a perfect head,
and the perfect temperature at which to serve it.

He will also teach spells to those who care to learn them.

master of goblin pulping

The Guild of Goblin-Pulping
[Exits: west]
You have entered the sanctum sanctorum of this ancient guild.  This is the
very room where the guildmaster teaches less-skilled fighters, molds them into
the finely-tuned killing machines that wreak havoc in every corner of the
known world.  The room is scattered about with the residue of their training:
broken weapons, shattered armor, severed limbs, goblin pulp, . . .

(Yellow Aura) A grizzled, scarred master warrior is here to teach you in the art
 of killing.

Master Hideout

Surprised to find a loose paving stone, you are even more surprised to find
a room underneath it, carved out of the rock underlying the street above.
Who could want such a secret, hidden room?

Dwainvin Dunderruff

The Temple of Kraig's Keep
[Exits: west]
You have reached the dwarven temple to their chief gods.  To the left is a
carving of a huge anvil and hammer, the symbols of Moradin the Soulforger.
To the right is a carving of two crossed axes, the sacred symbol of Clanggedon,
the dwarven god of battle.  Between them, you see the city's chief cleric,
Dwainvin Dunderruff.

(Yellow Aura) (White Aura) Dwainvin Dunderuff stands before you in his ceremonia
l armor, bestowing his benediction to all who come before him.

Mydgaard

Journeyman Finnvid

Hogni's Guildhall
[Exits: north east south]
A few comfortable, fur-covered benches are pushed haphazardly against
the walls, and the apprentices have left piles of gear scattered about
everywhere. It looks like this must be a warrior's guild, especially
with all the weapons displayed on the walls. Then you notice the long
wall of shelves hidden in the shadows to the west, filled with books
and scrolls. Warriors definitely wouldn't be reading this much. Sounds
of sparring and clashing blades ring from an open yard to the north.
The guild taproom is off an alcove to the east. South will take you back
out to the cobbled streets of Guilder's Way.

Master hogni

The Combat Yard
[Exits: south]
The warlocks spend most of their early apprenticeships studying swordplay.
They have to develop their skills in combat before they can learn magic.
Hogni puts them through their paces for hours on end. This yard rings
with the sound of clashing blades and falling bodies. It is a  small dirt
courtyard tucked in against the city walls. You can hear the faint sounds
of the River Urd to the north. South takes you back into the guildhall.

Hogni's assistant is dutifully polishing his master's armor.

Master Tura

Master Tura's Study
[Exits: south]
The room seems plain and sparsely furnished, with only a desk and large
reading stand to fill the emptiness. Moving forward, though, you bump
into a sharp corner that shouldn't have been there. More cantrips? All
is not as it seems in the mage master's private rooms. She's probably
simply protecting her precious scrolls and amulets from the destructive
nature of newbie apprentices. South takes you back to the Guildhall.

(Yellow Aura) Master Tura studies the arcane from a bound volume floating before
 her.

Journeyman Galar

Store Room
[Exits: none]
The tiny closet of a room is filled to the seams with barrels of ale
and mead. Rounds of cheese are piled atop the barrels in one corner,
aging. Only a space about three feet in diameter in the center of the
room is empty. Dust and cobwebs cover everything, even the small carpet
in the open floor space. Carpet? You look more closely. Why on Mystic
would anyone put a carpet on a dirt storeroom floor? West leads back
out into Torsten's Drenchaus.

ir.

Ginlog

Ginnlog's Quarters
[Exits: north]
Ginnlog uses this room to tutor guildhall apprentices and journeymen.
It's full of bell-covered pickpocket dummies, locks of every shape and
size, and an assortment of nasty looking needles. Jars of neatly labeled
poisons fill a small cabinet to one side, near a drying rack of herbs.
North leads back into the sumptuous atmosphere of Finder's Keepers.

(Yellow Aura) Ginnlog grins and picks your pocket in jest, before you have a 
chance to greet her.

Yugata Ansatshusha

The back room
[Exits: east]
This dark room is lit by a single candle, the occupant is a
creature of the night, thief, spy, assassin for hire, ninja.
The shop is east.

The master's quarters

These are the quarters of Hiratai Usuimono, Master of Bushido, the
way of the Warrior, and Kenjutusu, the art of the Sword. The room
is simple and clean. Fresh tatami cushion the floor, and another
lies in a corner as a sleeping mat. To the west is the training
room, which is probably where you should be unless you're here to
see the master himself.

Elstar

Elstar is one of my favorite hidden trainers. He teaches some cool skills, he is aggressive, detetects invis, has infrared. Basically you have to know what you want to learn before you go in or you will kill him before you have a chance to train.

Laboratory
[Exits: east south]
A full fledged operating table is set up here, outfitted with a full set of
restraints. A ledge nearby has a whole array of sterile medical equipment on
it, covered by a clear lid. There is a drain on the floor with gradients
leading to it to carry away the blood. For some reason, you don't imagine this
as a voluntary operating theatre.
